School Medical Room

ADIS Medical Room consists of Six BLS Certified and Licensed registered Nurses to provide First Aid. We work during normal hours. We administer emergencies as they arise within school and make appropriate arrangements for students who feel sick.

• Medical Room Equipments:
  The Medical Room is well equipped as per the Health Authority Requirements. Basic First Aid Kits are also located in high risk areas such as Laboratories and Swimming pool. As per HAAD we provide first aid kits for trips.
• Emergency Arrangements:
  In the event of serious accidents, an emergency service will be arranged at once and the parents are contacted immediately. A teacher or a nurse accompanies the patient to the Hospital Emergency Department. In case of less serious injuries, a parent is advised to take their child from school for further treatment.
• Policies Of Medical Room:
  Students can visit the medical Room for any injuries or illness during the school hours with the permission from the teacher. Every visit made by a student is properly recorded, observation sheet filled and filed in the medical file as per HAAD policy. It is the parent’s responsibility to inform the school if their child is suffering from any diseases or on any medication and to give full detailed information in the Medical Form.
• Vaccination:
  SEHA Nurses visit the school yearly to vaccinate Grade 1 Boys & Girls -DT, Polio and MMR, Grade 9 Girls & Boys – Rubella, Grade 11 Girls – HPV and Grade 11 Boys & Girls – DT, Polio, All free of cost.

• Library:

  ABU DHABI INDIAN SCHOOL has a group of four libraries with a vision to Inculcate and promote reading. The ADIS libraries provide students and staff access to variety of resources. The goal of the school library is to ensure that all members of the school community have equitable access to books and reading, to information. The school library serves as the center and coordinating agency for all material used in the school. The School library contains books, CDs, periodicals, teaching aids. These items are not only for the education, enjoyment and entertainment of all member of the school community but also to enhance and expand the school curriculum.
  School libraries have a positive impact on student achievements. It serves as a learning space for the students to do independent work. School libraries are staffed by librarians and teacher-librarians. They may read to children, assist them in selecting books. They identify and obtain library materials as per the curriculum and student interests. A vast and varied collection of books is maintained in order to promote independent reading and lifelong learning

ADIS Kindergarten

• Activity Room:
  The Kids’ Activity Room was established in 2011 as a way to bring exhibitions alive for children and a place where Kids can play, relax and socialize in a stress-free environment. Students in the Foundation Stage are encouraged to learn by using their sensory abilities. The Activity room allows this to the maximum. Kids also enjoy playing complimentary games and watching DVDs on the interactive board.

• Play Ground:
  ADIS Kindergarten provides a play area with a specific design for children to be able to play there. A type of playground called a plays cape is designed to provide a safe environment for play in a natural setting.

Laboratories

The school has full-fledged laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science and Mathematics.

• Computer Lab:
  The school has 5 well equipped Computer Laboratories with almost 100 Client machines with LCD monitors, 3 Server machines and Overhead Projectors.
  The facilities of the lab are also utilized for promoting experimentation in Robotics.

• Science Laboratories:
  The school has 3 well-equipped Science Laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology. Well-qualified and experienced instructors are available in each of the laboratories in order to provide personal guidance to each student.

• Mathematics Lab:
  Mathematics laboratory is a place where students can learn and explore mathematical concepts and verify mathematical facts and theorem through a variety of activities using different materials.
  The laboratory allows and encourages the students to think, discuss with each other and assimilate the concepts in a more effective manner.

• Audio Visual Room:
  We have a well-equipped Audio Visual room with a Smart Board and an LCD Projector with a seating capacity of more than 60. All these facilities are availed regularly by our students for their curricular and co-curricular activities.

• Smart Class:
  All our class rooms and Laboratories are equipped with Interactive LED Panels or Projectors which enables the teachers to use the resources available on the internet for better understanding of students.This digital approach of teaching/learning process will help the student to enhance the interest of the students in studies.

• Art & Craft Room:
  The school has Art & Craft Rooms which offer students opportunity to explore their creativity through various mediums under the supervision and guidance of expert teachers.
