Abu Dhabi Indian School Principal receives National Award

PRINCIPAL of Abu Dhabi Indian School (ADIS) VK Kaul has received the highest national award conferred on teachers by the government of India for outstanding contribution to the field of education.

Indian President Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam honours our Principal

In a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Sep.5, Indian President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam presented the prestigious award to Mr. V. K. Kaul in recognition of his valuable services to the community as a teacher of outstanding merit. The award includes a silver medal, Rs.25,000 and a citation.

Kaul who joined ADIS in 1982 as the principal has played an integral role in the growth and development of the institution. In 1993 he was awarded the order of merit as "Samaj Shri" by the Indian Council of Management Executives at a function in Mumbai.

Awards

The school has distinguished in various fields and got various certificates of
participation/appreciation and awards from the Government and non Government agencies.
Some of them are listed below
1988-1989 : For promotion of services for handicapped children at handicapped centre , Abu Dhabi
Feb. 1992 : For participation in Annual Exhibition for private schools in Abu Dhabi organized by Abu Dhabi Education Zone
1993 : Best project award (1st position) "Abu Dhabi A Breathers Paradise".
1996 : For participation in 1st Environmental National Day
1997-98 : Best Project award on Environment ' Ecology of Bateen Woods'
1998-99 : Best Project award on Environmental "Nature study of Al Ghar lake "
1999 : For Participation in Environmental Awareness programme organized by Environmental Research and wild life development agency.

For being the best and distinguished school, the best applied project on environment and best two students Deepika Mahajan and Rakesh Gopal Kumar for HAMDAN BIN RASHID AL MAKTOUM AWARD
1999-2000 : Mrs. Gayatri Raghwa teacher coordinator of the Nature Club has been declared as the Amateur Nationalist and is the recipient of the Bish Brown Awards initiated by the Emirate National History Group. She is the first Indian and a school teacher to have got this award for her efforts to promote Environmental Awareness.
2000-2001 ; Best Environmentally Implemented Project - 'Mangrove Eco-System'
2001-2002 ; Consolation Prize - 'Nesting Habits of Turtles in U.A.E'
2002-2003 : * Most Environment Friendly School among private schools of Abu Dhabi.

* Jeswin Jeypaul Raj and Rachel Anna Verghese of ADIS were declared the Most Environment Friendly students in the primary and Middle school category respectively.

* Better Environmental Award for ADIS Nature Club Project, "Nature Study of a wadi"
