CONVOCATION  2008

The 8th Annual convocation was held on Thursday 7th February 2008 at the Sheikh Zayed Auditorium HE Talmiz Ahmed, Ambassador of India to the U.A.E., was the Chief Guest. In his address to the students, He exhorted them to aspire for excellence   and yet not forget the less fortunate in their pursuit of global citizenship. 133 boys and 115 girls received their course completion certificates from the Ambassador. The Chairman, Board of Governors Dr. B. R. Shetty and other member also attended the ceremony that ended with the teachers passing the light of knowledge to the students in a torching candle lighting ceremony. 

                                     

 

                                 

                                                                                                                                           

                            

                      

                      

           

         

            

                              

 

REPUBLIC DAY 2007-2008

The 59th Republic day was celebrated with great gusto on Sat 26 January at the school grounds. Parents, students and staff broke into the national anthem as Mr. R. K. Singh, First Secretary, Embassy of India, unfurled the tricolour. The Chairman of the Board of Governors, Dr. B. R. Shetty and many of the distinguished members joined in the celebrations.

 In his address, he reiterated the President’s emphasis on India being ‘one of the driving forces’ in making the 21st century truly Asian.

 Students treated spectators to a colourful display of drills, dance and patriotic songs showing the rich beauty of our country as well as our unity in diversity.

ANNUAL DAY 2006-2007

The 32nd  Annual Day of the school was celebrated on 25 June '07 at the Sheikh Zayed Auditorium of the school. H. E. C. M. Bhandari, Ambassador of India to the U. A. E. and Chief Patron of the school was the Chief Guest.  Mr. B. R. Shetty, Chairman BOG and members of the the Board, Principals of various schools, Heads of various Indian Organizations were among the guests of honour.

The Ambassador was felicitated with a memento as a token of our affection and gratitude for being with us for the three years of his tenure in the U. A. E. Students were privileged  to  receive medals, prizes, cups and shields for various activities during  the academic year 2006-2007 from the Ambassador at a  glittering ceremony. A variety entertainment programme  was presented by more than 1000 students on this day.

Abu Dhabi Indian School Principal receives National Award

FROM OUR ABU DHABI BUREAU

PRINCIPAL of Abu Dhabi Indian School (ADIS) VK Kaul has received the highest national award conferred on teachers by the government of India for outstanding contribution to the field of education.

 

Indian President Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam honours our Principal

In a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Sep.5, Indian President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam presented the prestigious award to Mr. V. K. Kaul in recognition of his valuable services to the community as a teacher of outstanding merit.  The award includes a silver medal, Rs.25,000 and a citation.

Kaul who joined ADIS in 1982 as the principal has played an integral role in the growth and development of the institution.  In 1993 he was awarded the order of merit as "Samaj Shri" by the Indian Council of Management Executives at a function in Mumbai.
