ABUDHABI INDIAN SCHOOL "OVERALL CHAPIONS" ONCE AGAIN IN CBSE NATIONAL SWIMMING - MEET 2008 - 2009

     

     ABU DHABI INDIAN SCHOOL hosted the GULF ZONAL Swimming meet on 7th and 8th  October 2008 in  School. CBSE schools from the GULF took part for the selection of the zonal team. ADIS won 32 Gold 17 Silver and 5 bronze in the boys' category and 28 Gold, 19 Silver and 5 Bronze in girls' category. 44 swimmers from ADIS were selected to participate in the CBSE NATIONAL SWIMMING MEET.

      The four day NATIONAL SWIMMING MEET was organized by NAVARACHANA INTERNATIONAL   SCHOOL AT VADODARA IN GUJRAT,, - INDIA from 1st November to 4th November 2008. About 900 swimmers participated from all over India and the Gulf Countries. With 21 boys and 23 girls in the team, ADIS was the largest. The team was led by Mr. V. S. Bangera, Team Manager/coach and Mrs. Edna Sharma, Coach.

     At the National Meet  held in  Vadodara,  Our swimmers performed remarkably well by winning 2 Gold, 9 Silver and 14 bronze medals in girls' category and 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze medals in boys' category. Despite the tough competition, ADIS managed to win the Overall Championship once again with 255 points.

  Shameek Agarwal, Rashmitha Ramesh and Nicole Clarissa Miranda were the three gold winners and Surineni Kruthika, Aparna Sajeendran, Niraja Syresh, Shruti Mandhani and Rohit Rao were the other Individual winners at the National Meet.
